Addressing a coveted set of audience at the recently held USISPF India Summit 2024 in New Delhi, Andhra Pradesh’s minister for IT Electronics & Communication, HRD & RTG, Mr Lokesh Nara delivered a passionate speech speaking eloquently on his government’s plan for creating a golden Andhra Pradesh.

‘In line with the Prime Minister’s vision of Viksit Bharat we are working on something similar in Andhra Pradesh called Swarna Andhra Pradesh which translates into Golden Andhra Pradesh’ said Mr Lokesh.

The Government of Andhra Pradesh (GoAP) has set an ambitious target to transform the state into a $2.4 trillion economy by 2047 which includes achieving a per capita income of $43,000.

He reiterated his focus on creating Powerful Ecosystems which can drive growth while leveraging technology in delivering government services to the people at large.

‘There are amazing examples of how AI can improve efficiency. In the next 100 days you will see how AI is being deployed in various government agencies thereby helping ministers take effective decisions’ said the IT & Electronics minister of Andhra Pradesh.

Commenting on driving growth in specific sectors he said that each district is being developed with specific focus areas.

‘The Southern part of AP will focus on Automotive manufacturing, renewable energy, the Chittoor and Kadapa region will focus on IT and electronics while Visakhapatnam will focus on IT, Chemical, Pharma and even medical devices. We are also working on creating a Civil aviation university in Visakhapatnam with GMR, ‘ informed the minister.

Similarly, Mr Lokesh threw light on the skill census initiative undertaken by the government in Andhra Pradesh and said that this is one of its kind in the world where the government is going to go door-door to understand the basic skills set and then analyse what kind of skill interventions can it do keeping in mind market/industry requirements.

Reiterating his government’s main mandate and of their key poll promises i.e. of creating jobs he said ‘We need to create 2 million jobs in 5 years. This is a very bold statement made by any political party and we are actively working to deliver on this’ said the minister.

Mr Lokesh finally assured investors and businesses on the importance of speed of doing business and not just ease of doing business.

‘We promise you the speed of doing business during our government’s tenure. Every week we update our investors on the status of their projects, what needs to be done etc.’
