Vijayawada Passport office continues to enhance citizen experience

Delivers over 3 lakh passport-related services in 2024

The year 2024 seems to have been a busy year for the Regional Passport Office (RPO) Vijayawada, as it has successfully enhanced the citizen experience in services delivered.

Addressing the media recently, Mr. Siva Harsha, Regional Passport Officer at Vijayawada informed that during the calendar year, the RPO Vijayawada delivered an impressive 323,553 passport-related services.

This he said was made possible through the efficient functioning of two Passport Seva Kendras (PSKs) in Vijayawada and Tirupati, and 13 Post Office Passport Seva Kendras (POPSKs) that come under its jurisdiction, serving the Central and Rayalaseema regions of the state.

The Regional Passport Office Vijayawada has undergone significant infrastructure upgrades, including the shift of administration, policy and printing functions to a new state-of-the-art premise in Vijayawada.

Earlier in June 2024, RPO Vijayawada was awarded as the best office in its category for providing extraordinary standards of service delivery during the year 2023-24.

In addition, the expansion works of the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) in Vijayawada are nearing completion, with the facility expected to be fully operational soon.

These facilities will enhance the delivery of passport services to the residents of Andhra Pradesh, providing a more efficient, comfortable, and citizen-centric experience.

Mr. Harsha, thanked the tireless efforts of his team and the support of all stakeholders, including the Department of Posts, Andhra Pradesh Police and M/s Tata Consultancy Services.

He further stated that Andhra Pradesh Police has one of the fastest police verification processes for passport applicants enabling citizens to receive their passports in a timely manner.

Regional Passport Officer also appreciated the support of the Postal Department for facilitating additional appointments at Post Office Passport Seva Kendras (POPSKs) and for the faster delivery of passports at citizens’ doorstep.

The Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) Vijayawada is launching a special drive on Wednesdays in January 2025, offering 250 additional appointments to facilitate early and convenient services to applicants in the region.

In addition, Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) appointments have been increased at our 13 Post Office Kendras (POPSKs) he said.

Citizens are advised to avoid using touts and agents for passport services. Fresh appointments and rescheduling can be availed by applicants on the official website: www.passportindia.gov.in.
