UAE-AP explore to deepen trade ties

A UAE – Andhra Pradesh Economic and Investment Round Table meeting was recently held under the auspices of the AP Economic Development Board in Vijayawada.

The delegation was led by UAE Ambassador Dr Abdul Nasir Jamal Al Shali, wherein some of the top Dubai business representatives participated in the meeting.

The roundtable saw both sides deliberate on a slew of trade and business opportunities that both the regions could work upon.

Dr Al Shali maintained that it is essential to increase the level of economic and investment collaboration between the UAE and Andhra Pradesh.

Air connectivity was one of them wherein the UAE side evinced interest in enhancing air connectivity to this region.

Addressing the gathering the State Industries, Commerce and Food Processing Minister Mr. TG Bharat said that efforts are being made to bring investments from UAE to Andhra Pradesh.

It was informed that AP was UAE’s 11th largest trading partner having total trade reaching USD 1.46 billion for the 2023-2024 fiscal year.

Over 10 major UAE companies are said to have participated at the Vijayawada roundtable. Some of these representatives included the likes of Abu Dhabi Ports, Air Arabia, Aramex, DP World, DUCAB, Emaar, Emirates Airlines, Emirates NBD, FlyDubai, the Lulu Group.
