Giving a boost to water-based sports/activities, Andhra Pradesh’s minister for SERP, MSMEs and NRI Affairs Minister Mr. Kondapalli Srinivas recently unveiled a slew of water-based activities at Tatipudi Reservoir in Gantyada Mandal in Vizianagram.
To begin with water taxis and speed boats have been set up in the reservoir in the first phase while water sports will be set up in the second phase, and houseboats and floating cottages will be set up in the third phase informed the minister.
Mr Srinivas informed that an investment of Rs 5 crores is being made to give tourists an exciting experience in water sports.
Speaking on safety the minister noted that the youth of this area are being provided with appropriate training and employment opportunities and that boating is being conducted following full safety standards.
He said that boat riding will be a special attraction for tourists travelling to Araku via Visakhapatnam and added that steps will be taken to restore boat facilities for the tribals of the lower hill villages located beyond the reservoir soon under the auspices of the Forest Department.
