Performs groundbreaking for Rs 40 crore MSME unit
Andhra Pradesh’s Minister for MSME, SERP, NRI Relations & Empowerment, Mr. Kondapalli Srinivas, recently visited Sri City wherein he got an opportunity to tour the integrated business city’s sprawling development.
Sri City’s founder managing director, Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy welcomed the minister and presented him an overview of Sri City’s rapid growth while also pointing out that a significant share of industries in Sri City are MSMEs, contributing meaningfully to job creation, innovation, and supply chain strength.
Interaction with Senior Executives
In an interaction with CXOs of various units the Minister lauded Sri City’s infrastructure, scale, and employment generation, calling it a model for planned development.
He commended Dr. Sannareddy for creating a truly investor-friendly ecosystem. Reaffirming the government’s vision under Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, he said the new Industrial Policy aims for a Vikasit Andhra Pradesh by 2047, with focus on balanced growth, startup support, skill development, and faster project execution.
He assured strong support for logistics infrastructure and prompt resolution of industry issues.
Skill Development
Emphasising large-scale MSME promotion, the minister urged the industry to initiate vendor and skill development programmes, and invited suggestions to make Andhra Pradesh a leading industrial state.
Participants got to engage actively with the Minister, sharing their views and seeking clarifications on various matters.
Among the various suggestions one was the establishment of an MSME park nearby to accommodate activities which are not permitted within Sri City due to its status as a green industrial zone.
Groundbreaking of Gupta Oxygen
During his visit the Minister also participated in the groundbreaking of Gupta Oxygen Pvt. Ltd.’s Rs 40 crore MSME facility.
The Minister hailed the initiative as a step towards green industrial growth and appreciated Mr. Anand Gupta, MD & CEO of the company for setting up the facility.
The unit is scheduled for commissioning in October 2025, and will generate over 50 direct jobs and manufacture refrigerant and industrial gases under the ‘DewGas’ brand, catering to sectors like HVAC, automotive, and industry.
Some of its client list includes Godrej, Bluestar, Whirlpool, and Indian Railways.
The Minister also toured the campus, praising its clean and green environment and sectoral diversity. A notable stop was Everton Tea, an MSME unit employing over 90% local rural women. He lauded it as a model for women’s empowerment and inclusive growth.
At Sri city the Minister got to meet Mr. APK Reddy, President, Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises of India (FSME India) and the representatives of Tirupati Chamber of Commerce.
The Minister was accompanied by Satyavedu MLA Mr. K. Adimulam, Principal Technical Advisor Dr. M. Srinivasa Shankara Prasad, Executive Vice-Chairman of Global Forum for Sustainable Transformation Dr. Ramnath Velamati, CEO MSME Corporation Mr. Viswa Manoharan, and senior officials, and other dignitaries.
Dr. Sannareddy thanked the Minister for his visit and expressed confidence that such engagements would further boost Andhra Pradesh’s industrial momentum.
