CM hails role of AP Medtech Zone

Lauds CEO for driving innovation

The Chief Minister Mr. Nara Chandrababu Naidu recently visited the Andhra Pradesh Medtech Zone and hailed the zone’s role in saving lives of plethora of people during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Addressing the gathering the CM said that the establishment of the Medtech Zone was initiated under his tenure with the intention of making AP a leading hub in the field of medical equipment manufacturing.

“When the idea of setting up a medtech zone for medical equipment came up, many people said it was impossible. But now I am very happy to see the success that Med Tech zone has achieved.

Mr Naidu also lauded the role of AMTZ’s CEO, Dr Jitendra Sharma for making it functional in record time and for driving innovation at the zone. 

Under the able leadership of Dr. Jitendra Sharma the zone has achieved many laurels and during the covid-19 pandemic many ventilators, oxygen concentrators, mobile container unit, i lab, RTPCR kits etc. were manufactured from here, said the CM.

Speaking on the occasion Dr Sharma informed that the zone presently has about 145 companies producing a wide variety of medical equipment & that 6000 people had gained meaningful employment.
