Former RINL CMD Mr Jatinder Mehra was recently awarded the lifetime achievement award for his long(over 50 years) and outstanding contribution to the Indian Steel Industry. Mr Mehra received the award at the 3rd edition of ISA’s Steel conclave from the union minister of civil aviation and Steel, Mr Jyotiraditya Scindia. Mr Mehra’s son Mr Vineet Mehra also accompanied him on stage for the award.

Mr Mehra is currently with the Essar group wherein he joined Essar about 25 years ago as Managing Director of Essar Steel Limited, and has since led many business transformations, operating functions and complex projects for the Group.

In his current capacity as the Operating Partner for Essar Capital, he leads Business Strategy, Investments, Corporate Governance, Risk Management and Sustainability for various Essar initiatives, especially for the Metals & Mining portfolio.
