Inks key agreement with Microsoft

The AP government recently signed a key agreement with Microsoft for skill training and development in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and advanced technologies for the benefit of the youth of the state.

Representatives of Microsoft and officials of the Andhra Pradesh Skill Development Corporation signed the MoU in the presence of State Education, IT and Electronics Minister Mr Nara Lokesh at Amaravati.

As per the government the main objective of this agreement is to develop basic skills in AI and advanced technologies for secondary school children and youth to produce skilled personnel required for IT-based and other industries in the state.

Speaking on the occasion the Mr Lokesh said this agreement with Microsoft will provide skill development training to 2 lakh youth of AP within a year and will help them in availing the opportunities in AI.

Similarly, it was stated that Microsoft will train 500 faculty members and 10,000 engineering students in AI and cloud computing in 50 rural engineering colleges in the state. AI training in digital productivity will be provided to 30,000 students in 30 ITIs located in rural areas.

In addition, 40,000 people will be trained in AI skills in partnership with UNICEF to introduce Passport to Earning 2.0, and another 20,000 people will be trained in AI skills in collaboration with the Union Ministry of Labour and Employment.
