AU holds workshop on Fisheries sector

National Productivity Council (NPC), New Delhi (Under DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, GoI) recently organized a national level workshop on “Best practices in Fish Marketing System of Andhra Pradesh” at Andhra University.

The workshop aimed to delve into the various facets of fish marketing, highlighting effective strategies, initiatives, and technologies that can enhance the growth and sustainability of the fisheries sector.

National level Experts will discussed various aspects of Fish Marketing Systems, Effective Fish Cold Chain Management, Details of Innovative Containers for storage and Handling of Fish, Use of Phase Change Material as cooling Medium, Matsya Vahini-Eco Friendly Fish Kiosk for Sale of Fish etc.

The event provided insightful discussions and collaborative efforts to drive positive change within the fishery sector.

More than 300 participants covering Fish Farmers, Wholesalers, Retailers, Exporters, Fish Processors, Marketing Committee Members, Fish Entrepreneurs, Subject Matter Experts, Government Officials etc participated in the day-long workshop.

Professor P.V.G.D. Prasad Reddy, Vice Chancellor of Andhra University, participated as the chief guest and emphasized on the significance of the workshop in advancing the fisheries sector.
