AP based startup bags National Startup Award

In what could be a significant boost to the startup ecosystem in Andhra Pradesh a Vizag based startup has bagged the coveted National startup award 2023.

The National Startup Awards 2023 is one of the flagship initiatives launched by the Government of India and aims to recognize and reward outstanding startups and enablers that demonstrate exceptional capabilities.

Consideration is also given to champion sectors identified by the Government with a focus on improving India’s manufacturing capabilities towards the mission of an “Atma Nirbhar Bharat”.

Saif Automation Services LLP, a robotics and automation company that specializes in marine space to develop products bagged the national startup award under the Indigenous Ingenuity Champion category.

This category focused on startups engaged in producing goods or products within the borders of India.

Incidentally Saif Automation Services LLP also bagged the desirous best startup of the year award too.

This Andhra Pradesh incubated (APIS) startup pursues and develops pioneering marine solutions aimed at empowering and saving lives and has thus developed a life-saving buoy with remote control for beach safety. 

Entirely bootstrapped with in-house design and manufacturing processes the startup’s products are said to be 100% automated and easy to use and does not require any training and are hassle-free with low maintenance cost.

Saif Automation was the only startup from Andhra Pradesh to be in the top 20 list of winners. The founders of the startup include Mr Ahmed Shaikh Abdeally, Mr Taher Calcuttawala and Mr Aliasgar Calcuttawala.

Giving away the awards Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, and Textiles, Mr Piyush Goyal said that startups are playing a pivotal role in India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation by 2047. 

Addressing the Startup Awards & State Ranking Awards function in New Delhi the Minister commended the significant progress made in the startup sector over the last eight years, stating that what was once a novelty has now become an integral part of the national mainstream.
