Waltair div. holds meeting with freight customers

Waltair Division of East Coast Railway recently conducted a meeting with Railway freight customers and stakeholders to discuss various modalities to improve the freight traffic in Visakhapatnam.  

Chairing the meeting DRM Mr. Saurabh Prasad  said that effective decision making, cost savings measures, rake management are the key issues to be focused to accomplish set targets. 

Keeping in mind the demand by the industries, Waltair Division of East Coast Railway will provide additional rakes for the transportation of iron ore, doubling works speeded up, sidings were geared up etc, said DRM. Iron ore transportation has been considerably increased by 25% as compared to last year.  

The meeting was held for exploring the potential areas for revenue generation, assistance required from both ends and mutual coordination for a better healthy environment to improve the freight traffic, most importantly iron ore transportation. 

Stakeholders from esteemed business entrepreneurs like NMDC, VSP Gangavaram port,  Kudremukh Iron & Steel Company, Jindal Steel etc participated in the meet.
