Visakhapatnam Port Authority has sponsored an amount of Rs. 64.38 lakhs to Centre of Excellence in Maritime and Shipbuilding (CEMS) for providing skill training on Logistic Sector and Capital Goods to the unemployed youth of Visakhapatnam.
Handing over the cheque to the officials of CEMS On the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda National Youth Day VPA Chairperson Dr. M Angamuthu, IAS aid that VPA is committed for the upliftment of youth in Visakhapatnam.
As per a press release the sponsorship will be utilized by CEMS for providing training on a variety of courses like Courier Supervisor operations, Warehouse Executive, Warehouse Picker, Inventory Controller, CNC Operator- Vertical Machining Centre, MMAW SWAM Welder and Assistant Electrician.
The duration of the above courses will be 3 months and the training will be provided at free of cost. Eligible and interested incumbents are directed to apply and make the best use of opportunity provided by VPA in association with CEMS.
CEMS is a skill development initiative undertaken by the Ministry of Shipping along with Siemens Industry Software India Pvt Ltd & Indian Register of Shipping.
The project aims to impart Industry 4.0 relevant training in latest software & hardware tools and technology used in the engineering industry.
CEMS is headed by Mr K Sethu Madhavan who is the CEO of CEMS and Cdr Gopi Krishna Sivvam(Retd.), COO.
