PM lauds people of AP

Launches over Rs. 10k cr Infra projects in Vizag

Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi landed in the City of Destiny amid much fanfare and euphoria.

In the city to lay foundation stones for several key infrastructure projects the prime minister lauded Andhra Pradesh and its people.

‘People of Andhra Pradesh have a very special characteristic. They are always very loving and are big hearted. People of AP are in many leadership positions across the world in various sectors. This is not just because of their professional skill but their loving nature and big heartedness which makes them very admirable’ said the Prime Minister.

He also lauded Dr KHari Babu, Governor of Mizoram and former Vice-President, Mr Venkaiah Naidu for their unhindered love for AP. ‘Whenever they have met me they have always apprised me of Andhra Pradesh and its proposed development here’ said Mr Narendra Modi.

Vizag an Important Trade Hub

Identifying Vizag as being an ancient city of trade he said that the City of Destiny has a history of long time trade.

Visakhapatnam is an important city for Trade and has always been associated with trade since centuries he said.

‘Even in ancient India 1000 years ago Vizag was an important port and till today it remains to be an important port’ said the PM.

He highlighted Multimodal as a way forward and said that Vizag has begun on this journey.The Prime Minister laid foundation stones for projects worth Rs 10, 500 crores. Some of these projects include construction works for Visakhapatnam-Raipur greenfield economic corridor at a cost of Rs 3778 crores, improvement of port road between Sheela Nagar and Convent Junction at Rs 566 crores, GAIL natural gas pipeline project from Srikakulam to Angul worth Rs 2658 crores.
