Lalit Bohra takes charge as DRM Waltair Division

A 1998 batch IRTS officer Mr Lalit Bohra has taken charge as the new Divisional Railway Manager of Waltair Division in Visakhapatnam.

With extensive experience of traffic commercial and Policy formulation Mr Bohra was earlier joint secretary in the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, Government of India (MNRE).

While working as joint secretary in MNRE he played an instrumental role in framing PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijali Yojana, PM-KUSUM, Wind Energy Policy including offshore wind, Green Energy Corridors, PLI Scheme for Solar Manufacturing etc.

He was also Director General of National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE) and was on the Board of Directors of Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd and Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd.

While working in Railways he worked as Chief Commercial Manager, Chief Passenger Transportation Manager, Chief Public Relations Officer, and Deputy General Manager (General).

He has also been the Chief General Manager in Container Corporation of India and has been instrumental in setting up the biggest dry port i.e. as Khatuwas Terminal and running double stack container trains.

Mr Bohra is a B.Tech (Electrical Engineer) from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and MBA (Finance) from Birla Institute of Technology, Pilani. His hobbies include reading, playing badminton, tennis and running.
