AP’s minister for Roads & Buildings and Infrastructure & Investments, Mr B.C. Janardhan Reddy recently visited the Kakinada Gateway Port (KGPL) being developed by the Auro Infra Group.

During his visit, the Minister reviewed the progress of the port development works and stated that the construction of the port is progressing steadily and is expected to be completed and made operational by July 2026.

The Minister held a review meeting with senior officials and instructed them to expedite the resolution of land acquisition and other pending issues to avoid any delays.

He also addressed the media, reiterating the government’s commitment to infrastructure development in the state.

KGPL is being developed at an estimated cost of INR 2,621 crore and once operational will have an initial handling capacity of 16 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) and will include three berths—one for coal and two multipurpose berths.
