Japanese construction equipment Mftr. achieves a milestone in AP

Rolls out 20,000th Excavator

A key player in the construction equipment industry, Kobelco Construction Equipment India (KCEI) recently celebrated a major milestone with the production of its 20,000th SK-220 excavator from its cutting-edge Sri City facility.

KCEI is a subsidiary of Kobelco Construction Machinery, Japan and ensures strong service and parts support through 140+ outlets across India, Nepal, and Bangladesh.

Marking the milestone an event was held wherein Dr. S. Venkateswar, IAS, District Collector, congratulated KCEI on this remarkable achievement.

He emphasised that KCEI’s growth reflects Andhra Pradesh’s investor-friendly policies and ease of doing business, while its expansion in Sri City highlights the region’s thriving industrial ecosystem, boosting employment and economic development.

Mr. Takemichi Hirakawa, MD & CEO, unveiled the milestone machine and formally handed it over to Mr. K. Jalandhar Reddy, Executive Director of KNR Constructions, a valued customer, in the presence of Dr. Ravindra Sanna- reddy, Founder Managing Director of Sri City.

Mr. Hirakawa commended the team’s dedication and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction, highlighting its contribution to India’s infrastructure growth.

Dr. Sannareddy applauded the KCEI team and hailed the new R&D facility as a catalyst for innovation, solidifying Sri City’s position as a hub for advanced engineering.

Specialising in advanced hydraulic excavators, it has contributed to major infrastructure projects like highways, metro rail, and urban development.

The Sri City facility also plays a vital role in exports. Expanding its product lineup, KCEI has introduced energy-efficient models tailored for Indian conditions and is developing electric and hybrid excavators with smart technology for enhanced fuel efficiency and sustainability.
