Addressing a select gathering of highly influential people at Elegant Hotel in Visakhapatnam Mr Kallam spoke on ‘Transforming governance – for us- to us: A new path for transparent, reliable and secure administration’.

Speaking as the Chief Guest Mr Kallam identified few key areas along the lines of course corrections taken by CM Jagan Mohan Reddy aimed to rectify the faulty systems created by the previous government.

Employment creation

“In these five years, CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy has created permanent jobs for 2.13 lakh people in Andhra Pradesh, out of which 1.35 lakh are secretariat employees,” informed Mr Kallam.

He pointed out that the TDP government could recruit only 13,000 people during its regime.

In addition he said that compared to other Indian states, the salaries of AP government employees are higher.

‘They are 30% more than the remuneration of central government employees. AP government employee salaries rose from Rs. 18,709 crore in 2014 to Rs. 57,222 crore in 2023-24’ said the CMs principal advisor.

Strengthening education

Restoring the legacy and benefits of public educational institutions, Mr Jagan took the initiative to introduce English as a medium of learning in government schools in the state and give them a radical facelift.

The government has spent around Rs.73417 crores on education, including fees reimbursement in colleges noted Mr Kellam.

Thriving healthcare

Health has been one of the Jagan government’s central tenets. Continuing the pioneering initiative introduced by the late Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, Former Chief Minister of AP, the CM has revolu- tionised healthcare with YSR Aarogyasri.

The concept of the family doctor has been introduced, maintaining health records and around 10,132 village health clinics have been set up. Apart from 17 new medical colleges in AP, five multi-speciality hospitals in tribal areas are slated to come.

Land reforms

Ajeya Kallam called the Land Titling Act innovative and reformative for resolving enduring land conflicts. He further infor- med that 12 more states are trying to enforce it.

Boosting Investments

On the economic front Mr Kallam apprised of the new upcoming ports and some of the big ticket investments in IT, manu- facturing etc.

The state is going to attract investments of Rs. 8 lakh crores just in renewable energy said Mr Ajeya Kallam.
