Visakhapatnam’s newly appointed District Collector Mr M. Abhishikt Kishore assumed charge today, pledging dedicated service for the district’s overall development and public welfare.
Addressing the media in his chamber, he stated that effective implementation of government schemes and ensuring benefits reach genuine beneficiaries would be among his foremost priorities.
Mr Kishore emphasized that holistic and inclusive development would guide his administration.
He described Visakhapatnam as a fast emerging economic, industrial, and IT hub in the state and the country, and stressed the need to accelerate ongoing initiatives.
Identifying key areas of growth, he said focused efforts would be made to attract investments, particularly in information technology, industries, data centres, and tourism.
In addition, the Collector noted that infrastructure development, employment generation, and balanced growth between urban and rural regions would receive special attention.
Mr Kishore reiterated that public welfare remains the government’s primary objective and assured that he would work tirelessly toward achieving it.
He announced plans to visit all parts of the district to understand local needs and design tailored development strategies.
Some of the major economic drivers he cited included the upcoming Bhogapuram Airport, port led development, and industrial expansion, stating these would provide fresh momentum to the region’s progress.
Emphasizing transparent, efficient, and accountable governance, Mr Kishore said he would coordinate closely with officials at all levels and encouraged active public participation.
Hailing from Nellore, Mr Kishore has held key roles including Sub Collector, ITDA Project Officer, Municipal Commissioner, Joint Collector, and District Collector of Annamayya district, besides serving in Finance, Commercial Taxes, and Industries departments.
He thanked the Chief Minister for giving him this opportunity.
Joint Collector G. Vidyadhari, GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg, and VMRDA Commissioner Tej Bharat, along with various other officials, extended their greetings and assured full cooperation to achieve administrative goals and ensure timely delivery of services across the district.
