IIMV sees 25% increase in its EMBA batch

180 professionals sign up, 28% women

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Visakhapatnam recently welcomed its 2nd batch of the Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) program at its permanent campus in Ghambhiram, Visakhapatnam.

Prof. Happy Paul, Program Chairperson, informed of a 25% increase in the batch size and said that this is a testament that EMBA program is being received quite well by the working professionals.

Presenting the profile summary of EMBA Batch 2024-26 Prof. Kaveri Krishnan, Admission Chair, highlighted that the incoming batch consists of 180 working professionals coming from diverse industries such as manufacturing, IT, banking, consulting, ecommerce, telecommunication, retail etc., with an average work experience of ten years. She highlighted that 28% of the participants are women.

Welcoming the participants, Prof. M Chandrasekhar assured them that IIM Visakhapatnam is committed to providing an excellent learning experience for the cohort. 

He emphasized the importance of aspiring to reach their full potential and encouraged participants to collaborate with each other and with faculty members to develop case studies that reflect contemporary management scenarios.

The Chief Guest for the function Mr MVN Rao, Head – Corporate Learning & Development, Larsen & Toubro Ltd., congratulated the participants on their wise decision to enroll in the IIMV EMBA program and emphasized the importance of upskilling for working professionals. 

He discussed the future landscape where participants would apply the skills acquired during the program and described the traits of the future workforce. 

He highlighted the significance of stakeholder management and the necessity for strategic execution and a technologically adept, humane approach. Mr Rao encouraged the participants to maximize their MBA learning journey by remaining focused and engaged throughout.

Mr Rao also awarded Certificates of Merit and felicitated the students on the Director’s Merit List from the EMBA batch of 2023-25. 

Mr Anish Srikrishna, CEO of TimesPro, explained how this two-year program will equip learners with critical skills, foster cross-sectoral knowledge through peer-to-peer interaction, and develop leadership qualities essential for both individual and organizational growth.

Prof. Shivshanker Patel, Coordinator (Academics & Research) along with Mr Sunil Sood, CBO, TimesPro also addressed the gathering.
