To supplement 45,000 hectares of palm oil cultivation
Godrej Agrovet Limited recently inaugurated its first downstream project for value-added products in oil and fats in Andhra Pradesh. It will supplement 45,000 hectares of oil palm plantation in the State.
The Government led by Chief Minister Mr. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has helped us in setting up & commissioning of this plant in record 9 months, said its Chairman Mr. Nadir Godrej. MD Mr Balram Singh Yadav & ED Mr Burjis Godrej, thanked the Chief Minister and the officials for their constant support for building an ecosystem for the betterment of farming communities & their prosperity.
The New Edible Oil Refinery at Seethanagram, Chintampalli, Eluru in Andhra Pradesh, has a capacity of 400 tonnes per day and will help cater to captive needs originating from oil palm work in the southern states along with demand from other crude palm oil players in the region.
This new investment is built up on the INR 1000 Crores investment in the state by the Oil Palm, Aqua Feed, and Dairy businesses. It is the largest oil palm processor in India and works directly with farmers for the entire lifecycle of their crop, the release further added.
This investment is aligned with the National Mission on Edible Oil – Oil Palm (NMEO-OP) and the company has established a goal to add 60,000 hectares of additional oil palm plantations over the course of the next five years to support the long-term sustainable development of oil palm in India.
The Chief Minister also unveiled plaques for the Rs. 610 crore bioethanol manufacturing unit Kribhco Green Energy Pvt Ltd, the Rs. 315 crore ethanol manufacturing unit Viswa Samudra Bio Energy in Sarvepalli, Nellore district, and the Rs. 400 crore soluble coffee manufacturing unit CCL Food and Beverages Ltd in Varadayi Palem Kuvvakolli, Tirupati district.
