GoAP sets up Sikh Welfare Corp.

In a significant move that would safeguard the interests and welfare of the Sikh community in the state of Andhra Pradesh, the state government has appointed Mr Dilshan Singh Anand as the chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Sikh welfare corporation.

Mr Anand popularly known as Shahji is well revered in the Sikh community in Andhra Pradesh and holds several key posts like the president of Gurdwara Sadh Sangat, Visakhapatnam, Incharge of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) for the entire South India which includes the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Mr. Anand is also the brand ambassador for Swachha Visakha.

In the GORT no 221 issued by the Minorities welfare department Mr Anand has been appointed for a period of 2 years. 

Speaking on the appointment Mr Anand expressed his thanks and gratitude to the Chief Minister Mr. Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy and Regional Coordinator Mr. Y.V.Subba Reddy and others for the responsibility bestowed upon him. 

He lauded the decision of the AP government to have initiated and implemented this first of its kind GO in any State in the interest of Sikh Community.

Mr Anand said he will serve the Sikh community of the State of Andhra Pradesh with utmost integrity and responsibility.
