Vice Admiral Rajesh Pendharkar, AVSM, VSM FOCINC ENC, while on a visit to Puducherry, paid a courtesy call on the Chief Minister,  Mr. Natesan Krishnasamy Ranga- samy. 

During the meeting, the CinC apprised him on maritime operations and capability enhancement plans of the Indian Navy and outreach activities in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry area. (ENC) is the largest command (geographically) not only in the Indian Navy but among all the armed forces commands in India. 

The primary role of the Eastern naval Command is to ensure maritime security in the AOR i.e. The Area of Responsibility.
