Damodaram Sanjivayya National University recently held a National Level Competition of the Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) 5.0.
A flagship event of the Legal Incubation Centre of DSNLU, it is conducted by the Centre which draws participants from across the nation.
As per DSNLU the creation of the crime scene is a unique academic activity for young law students, who can learn by gaining practical experience of visiting a crime scene and honing their observation and investigative skills.
The event commenced with an opening address that set the stage for the day’s proceedings, marking the official inauguration of CSI 5.0.
Mr. KV Murali Krishna, Superintendent of Police, Anakapalle district imparted valuable insights garnered from his extensive experience in investigation and law enforcement.
In his address Mr. Krishna emphasized the symbiotic relationship between the legal fraternity and law enforcement agencies and shared the challenges they face as investigation officers.
The finding of facts and pieces of evidence are key to criminal justice and lack of proper evidence leads to injustice he said.
Mr Krishna further highlighted the importance of an investigation approach to find facts to be presented to the court and underscored the significance of students’ engagement in legal careers and the practical experience gained through initiatives like CSI.
Furthermore, he shed light on the pivotal role of crime scene investigation in ensuring accurate detection and conviction of perpetrators.
Dr.Nandini C.P, the Faculty Convenor and RegistrarI/C, provided participants with essential information regarding the relevance of the competition, setting the stage for the upcoming challenges and opportunities that the participants have to face in legal profession and the relevancy of CSI in their legal profession.
Giving the welcome address Professor Dr. D. Surya Prakash Rao, Vice Chancellor of Damodaram Sanjivayya National University emphasized the indispensable role of robust state machinery in upholding law and order and emphasized the role of the investigation by international agencies and by our state machinery.
