DCIL bags Rs.2k cr. Order

Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port Authority (SMPA) recently awarded the “Maintenance Dredging in the Hooghly Estuary to Dredging Corporation of India Limited, (DCIL). 

As per an official release the contract is valued at Rs 2015.88 Crores. The duration of this contrtact is for five years and pertains to the maintenance dredging in the Hooghly Estuary, primarily focusing on the shipping channel leading to Haldia Dock.

The maintenance dredging is crucial for ensuring the navigability of the shipping channel, thereby facilitating smooth and efficient maritime operations in the region. 

The Hooghly Estuary is a vital waterway for maritime trade, and maintaining its depth is essential for the safe passage of vessels to and from the Haldia Dock. 

DCIL, a leader in the dredging industry, has a proven track record of executing large-scale dredging projects with precision and efficiency. VPA/ DCIL Chairman Dr Madhaiyaan Angamuthu, IAS, and Deputy Chairman, VPA & MD & CEO, A/C, DCIL Mr. Durgesh Dubey, have expressed their gratitude & said “We are honoured to be awarded this prestigious contract by SMPA”.
