Marking a significant leap in Andhra Pradesh’s green energy endeavors, Chief Minister Ms.YS Jagan Mohan Reddy virtually inaugurated three robust renewable energy projects in Nandyala district, projecting an aggregate generation capacity of 5314 MW.

As per an official release from the CM’s office these encompass a 2300 MW solar initiative by Greenko at Junuthala village, a combined 1014 MW solar and wind undertaking by AM Green Energy at Kandikayapalle, and two fold 1000 MW solar and wind endeavors by Ecoren Energy at Muddavaram village. Collectively, these ventures symbolize an investment of over Rs. 24,850 crores and employment prospects for 5300 individuals.

In tandem with these launches, APGENCO entered a pivotal MoU with the National Hydro-Electric Power Corporation (NHPC) to champion pumped storage power projects.

This alliance aspires to develop 1950 MW pumped storage facilities at Yaganti and Kapalapadu, involving a financial outlay of Rs. 10,000 crores and further job creation for 2000 personnel.

Underscoring the strategic alignment with the state’s green vision, CM Jagan remarked, “With these projects, Andhra Pradesh is poised to pioneer India’s green energy revolution.” He emphasized the environment-centric approach, highlighting reduced fossil fuel dependency.

To provide further clarity and direction, the Chief Minister also introduced a white paper spotlighting the manifold investment avenues in Andhra Pradesh’s emergent green hydrogen domain. Moreover, companies anchoring these projects pledge significant royalty commitments to the state and propose annual recompenses to local agrarians for land allocations.

The occasion saw a distinguished gathering including Energy Minister Mr.P. Ramachandra Reddy, Finance Minister Mr.B. Rajendranath, Deputy Chief Minister Mr.K. Satyanarayana, among several senior delegates from partnering entities and the UK diplomatic mission.
