The British Deputy High Commissioner to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Mr Gareth Wynn Owen, today visited the Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone (VSEZ) in order to further explore trade opportunities between the two regions and the potential it holds for businesses.
Accompanied by a delegation of senior officials and industry experts Mr Owen was given an overview of the zone’s operations by the development commissioner himself Mr Srinivas Muppaala, IRSME.
As per a release from VSEZ Mr Srinivas highlighted the key industries and businesses operating within VSEZ and their growth over the past many decades.
The British delegation is said to have also made a detailed presentation on investment and business opportunities available in the UK, outlining incentives for industries looking to set up operations there.
This was followed by a Q&A session with exporters from VSEZ, where they explored possibilities for collaboration and growth.
The visit concluded with a symbolic gesture with Mr Owen and the delegation planting a sapling, underscoring their commitment to sustainable development and partnership, said the release.
The Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone (VSEZ) has been one of India’s pioneering Export Processing Zones for over 3 decades. Its jurisdiction covers 85 notified SEZs across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, and Yanam.
