ICSI holds the 24th National Conference of Practising Company Secretaries
The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) recently inaugurated the 24th National Conference of Practising Company Secretaries on the theme Company Secretary: Stepping Beyond Boundaries in Visakhapatnam.
Speaking on the occasion Minister for Industries, Infrastructure, Investment & Commerce, Information Technology, Hand looms & Textiles, Mr Gudivada Amarnath, said that “Company Secretaries are an indispensable part of the New India, the $ 5 trillion economy which the Prime Minister of India, has dreamt of”.
He also assured that the Government of Andhra Pradesh will extend its full support to educate the people of the State about the CS Course and Profession so that more people can become Company Secretaries and contribute to building a robust India.
Reminiscing the 35-year journey of Practising Company Secretaries (PCS), CS Manish Gupta, President, of the ICSI said “It is time now for Company Secretaries to expand knowledge horizons and look beyond the conventional opportunities across the globe”.
He also delved into the recent initiatives of the Institute, one of which was the creation of new Boards for strengthening the profession and building the acumen and expertise of the members.
The two-day event witnessed Leaders from trade and industry, senior corporate professionals, corporate directors, senior officers from the government, and other stakeholders who deliberated on Emerging Opportunities: Expectations and challenges, Social Stock Exchange & Social Audit: New horizon for PCS, Arbitration & ADR: Augmenting Professional spectrum, MSME & Startups: Catalyst to Economic Growth and Enhancing Traits of Appearance before Tribunals & Quasi-Judicial Bodies
Justice Mr. D.V.S.S. Somayajulu, Judge, High Court of Andhra Pradesh, also participated in the special session on June 17.
