AM/NS Vizag donates 32 motorcycles under CSR

Visakhapatnam Police Commissioner Mr. A Ravi Shankar, along with District Collector Dr. A Mallikarjuna, Executive Director of AMNS Mr M Ravindranath, and Head (HR and Admin)-Vizag Asset Mr.DS Varma recently unveiled 32 traffic motorcycles and a towing vehicle at R.K.beach.

ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel (AMNS) India Limited has contributed Rs. 57 lakhs as part of its CSR activity for purchase of these vehicles. AMNS India Limited also plans to augment this contribution by providing an additional 25 vehicles in the near future. Additionally, the company intends to enhance road safety measures by installing traffic signboards of various sizes along the route from the AMNS plant to Sheelanagar. 

The main objective of the CSR is to enchance traffic control measures and to reduce road accidents in Visakhapatnam.

Speaking on the occasion CP highlighted that the motorcycles have been equipped with digital signboards to alert traffic violators.

In his address the Collector said that the road accidents have come down in 2023 compared to 2022 due to the measures taken by the Police and the district administration. 

He also informed that the Visakhapatnam stood first in controlling road accidents. This reflects the commitment of both the public and private sectors to adopt modern solutions for traffic management.

Previously, AMNS has demonstrated its commitment to corporate social responsibility by providing solar power facilities to King George Hospital and Victoria Women’s Hospital. 

Additionally, the construction of a BC Welfare Hostel building at Islampet underscores the company’s dedication to community development initiatives.

Joint police Commissioner Mr. Fakeerappa and others also participated in the programme.
