Andhra Pradesh’s Minister for Education, IT and Electronics Mr Nara Lokesh today met with Mr Aiman Ezzat, CEO of Capgemini, in Visakhapatnam and held discussions on potential investments and expansion opportunities in the state.
During the meeting, the minister highlighted that under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, Visakhapatnam is rapidly emerging as a major IT and data centre hub.
Minister Lokesh invited Capgemini to expand its presence, and urged the company to establish an IT Development Centre and a Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Visakhapatnam with the potential to generate around 20,000 jobs.
He also encouraged the company to set up service centres for Cloud Services and BPM verticals.
Partner with Unis in AP
Minister Lokesh further invited Capgemini to partner with universities in Andhra Pradesh as a co-development partner to establish Emerging Technology Labs focusing on Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, Digital Development and Digital Talent Pipeline creation.
Strengthen Quantum
The minister also requested the company to set up a dedicated Quantum vertical and collaborate with global technology partners to support enterprise customers in areas such as optimization, financial services and sustainability.
He invited Capgemini to contribute to the development of the proposed Quantum Valley initiative in Andhra Pradesh.
The IT Minister also informed them that work on the country’s largest Google data centre in the city is set to begin soon and that leading technology companies such as Cognizant and Tata Consultancy Services have already established their presence in Visakhapatnam.
He said Visakhapatnam offers a unique IT ecosystem unmatched by any other region in the country.

Responding to the proposal, Mr Ezzat informed that Capgemini, founded in Paris in 1967, currently employs around 340,000 people globally, with nearly 200,000 employees based in India.
The company provides services across key verticals including Strategy and Transformation, Cloud, Data and AI, Digital Engineering, Enterprise Platforms, Managed Services and Cybersecurity.
He noted that Capgemini operates from 13 cities in India, including Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, Noida, Kolkata, Gurugram and Bhubaneswar. Ezzat said the company would examine the proposals made by the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
Capgemini India CEO Mr Sanjay Chaka and Mr Keshav Murugesh, CEO of WNS Global Services, were also present at the meeting.
