WCL receives 4 National Safety Awards

Four mines of Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) were awarded the ‘Mine Safety Award’ in the ‘Mine Safety Award 2024’ held in Kolkata recently. 

In the ceremony, Tawa-2 mine of Pathakheda region received the second prize in the category of medium class underground mines. Saoner-2 of Nagpur region received the third prize in the category of small underground mines.

Gondegaon mine of Nagpur region received the third prize in the category of medium class open mines and Ghonsa open mine of Wani North region received the second prize in the category of small open mines. 

These awards were organized for the first time in the country by CIL. The awards were presented by Director General of Mine Safety, Mr. Prabhat Kumar.
