In an initiative aimed at fostering more youth into sporting activities, Visakhapatnam’s Lok Sabha Member of Parliament Mr M Sribharat has taken upon him to spread the sport of Judo across the state.

“My primary goal is to expand the sport of Judo across Andhra Pradesh, especially to rural areas, and to inspire youth to take up sports. Sports help build confidence and discipline among youngsters. I will work closely with the association to produce international-level Judo players from our state” said Mr Sribharat, who has been elected as Honorary Chairman of Andhra Pradesh Judo Association.

The Andhra Pradesh Judo Association held their Annual General Body Meeting wherein they unanimously elected Mr Sribharat as the Honorary Chairman of the association.

On this occasion, the association members felicitated MP Sribharat and extended their full support. They stated that his leadership, experience, and vision would greatly contribute to the development of Judo in the state, which led them to take this unanimous decision.

Addressing the gathering the Lok Sabha member of parliament emphasized his commitment to strengthening the infrastructure for Judo across the state, organizing training camps, conducting competitions, and running awareness programs to popularize the sport.

He also assured that efforts will be made to host international-level Judo events in Visakhapatnam and that he would actively work towards making this a reality.

Judo coaches, officials, and players from across Andhra Pradesh also attended the meeting.
