Aims to train 750 people per annum, offers courses free of cost
A leading Ferro alloys producer Sarda Metals and Alloys limited recently established a dedicated Sarda Skill Development Centre in Kothur village as part of its CSR activities and its commitment to societal progress.
Built with an investment of Rs 10 lakhs the Sarda Skill Development Centre is built on an area of about –1600 sq. ft.
As per the management the centre offers a comprehensive array of courses designed to empower individuals with valuable skills and aims to enhance their income potential.
Each course at the Sarda Skill Development Center is said to be meticulously crafted to provide practical knowledge and hands-on training.
Some of these courses include Tailoring and Embroidery (1 month course) that enables participants to master the intricate art of embroidery, covering a wide range of techniques such as hand embroidery, machine embroidery, and embellishment methods.
Similarly a beautician course is also on offer which is tailored specifically for women. ‘This course provides comprehensive training in various aspects of beauty care, including skincare, makeup application, hair styling, and salon management. 30 kits are provided during training’ said a release from the company.
Computer Training is another course that is on offer and is geared towards unemployed youth.
This course aims to enhance their digital literacy and proficiency in computer skills, covering topics such as basic computer operations, software applications, internet usage, and digital communication.
As per the company about 750 members will be benefited per annum with a batch of 60 members per month.
Individuals within the age bracket of 15-40 can undergo training at the Skill Development Centre. All courses are offered completely free of cost and upon successful completion of any course, participants will receive a Government-Authorized Certificate, validating their newly acquired skills.
In addition the centre will also provide job guidance and business assistance to individuals interested in pursuing employment opportunities or venturing into entrepreneurship.
Other CSR Initiatives
Furthermore, as part of its inclusive approach, it provided two battery-operated tricycles, promoting mobility and independence within the community.
SMAL has also built public toilets at Kothavalasa junction and ZPH School Kothalavalasa.
Recognising the importance of basic amenities, the company constructed public toilets with an investment of Rs 32 lakhs at Kothavalasa junction where 300-400 persons are benefited per day and ZPH School Kothavalasa where 650 students are benefited per day, ensuring hygiene.
The programme was inaugurated by Mr.Prabhat Mohan (Sr.GM–HR), Mr. Vijaya Bhaskar (Sr.GM-Civil) & Senior Leadership team inaugurated these programs.
