Graduates 27 Women-Led Startups
The Indian Institute of Management Visak- hapatnam (IIMV) celebrated International Women’s Day by marking the graduation of 27 dynamic startups from its Naaripreneur For Her Program, funded by the CSR initiatives of NBCC India Ltd, Delhi.
Hosted by IIMV FIELD, the IIMV’s Incubation and Startup Hub, the program supports women-led ventures and businesses.
The event featured keynote addresses from key figures, including Ms. Madhura Das Gupta Sinha, Founder & CEO of Aspire for Her, who emphasized the importance of women as job creators, stating, “We want women to be job creators, not just job seekers.” Ms. Malavika R Harita, Member of the Board of Governors at IIMV, praised the entrepreneurs as ‘wonderpreneurs’ and highlighted the significant contributions women are making to the economy.
Mr. Debasis Satapathy, CGM-HR at NBCC India Ltd., also shared the proud achievement of the Naaripreneur initiative, which secured second place in the Best CSR Project for Women Development category at the PRSI National Awards 2024.
Mr. Guhesh Rama- nathan, CEO of IIMV FIELD, congratulated all the participants, celebrating their remarkable achievements and encouraging them to continue their journey of success and empowerment. The 15-month program included phases such as an Ideation Bootcamp, capacity-building sessions, and incubation support.
Additionally, 10 of the 13 idea-stage startups at the beginning of the program have successfully advanced to the product-market fit stage, demonstrating their capacity to build sustainable businesses.
These women-led ventures have significantly contributed to the economy by creating 158 direct jobs and over 500 indirect jobs.
The ceremony also recognized the Top 5 startups Bio-Aryavedic Naturals Pvt Ltd (Ms. Vineetha A K), Overqualified Housewives (Ms. Sankari Sudhar), Rangbheeni (Ms. Kumkum Masat- kar), Ivan Enterprise-HueCoast (Ms. Shivani Thakkar), and Raw Diaries LLP (Ms. Parumita Pal)- who received 3 lakh each fuelling their growth even further, thereby totalling an amount of Rs 25 lakhs as performance grants during the entire program.
