New plant to integrate green hydrogen blending with PNG/LPG for industrial furnace applications

Mr Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, virtually inaugurated Hero Future Energies’ (HFE) pioneering Green Hydrogen plant at Rockman Industries in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh recently.

Congratulating Hero Future Energies and Rockman Industries on this groundbreaking Green Hydrogen Plant, he said that with its strong industrial base and progressive energy policies, Andhra Pradesh is well-positioned to lead India’s green hydrogen revolution.

“This project marks another step towards our state’s clean energy future, leveraging our abundant renewable resources and growing industrial demand,” said the chief minister.

Mr. Naidu reiterated that the State was committed to leading India’s green energy revolution, aligning with its Swarnandhra Vision 2047, which aims to make the state a global hub for renewable energy and green hydrogen production.

The Chief minister further pointed out that in October 2024, the State introduced the Integrated Clean Energy (ICE) Policy, with a vision to add over 160 GW of renewable energy capacity and attract investments worth approximately Rs 10 trillion (~$118.95 billion) over the next five years.

“Projects like Hero Future Energies’ green hydrogen blending initiative reinforce the state’s reputation as an investor-friendly destination for sustainable industrial transformation. The successful demonstration of hydrogen blending at Rockman Industries is just the beginning, and we look forward to scaling up these efforts.

I assure all investors that Andhra Pradesh will continue to support clean energy projects, ensuring a prosperous, greener future for all,” the CM said.

The newly inaugurated plant is said to be a pioneering initiative integrating green hydrogen blending with PNG/LPG for industrial furnace applications.

This breakthrough technology significantly reduces carbon emissions and sets a new benchmark for India’s energy transition. The scalable model introduced in Tirupati can be replicated across other hard-to-abate industries, both in Andhra Pradesh and nationwide.

“This project is a major step toward industrial decarbonization. Our unique blending of green hydrogen with LNG offers industries an innovative pathway to reduce emissions. We are grateful for the Chief Minister’s support in fostering clean energy innovation in Andhra Pradesh” said Mr Rahul Munjal, Founder CMD, Hero Future Energies. Similarly, Mr Ujjwal Munjal, Managing Director, Rockman Industries stated “We are proud to host this landmark initiative in partnership with Hero Future Energies.

This plant underscores our commitment to reducing carbon footprints and driving eco-friendly innovation in the automotive components industry.” Hero Future Energies (HFE) is a global renewable energy leader within the Hero Group.
