To empower 50k youth with IT skills
Cisco, the worldwide leader in networking and security, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Andhra Pradesh, to enhance digital skills development in the state.
This partnership underscores Cisco’s ongoing commitment to skilling India’s workforce by providing students and young professionals with access to world-class digital learning resources in emerging technologies like Networking, Cybersecurity, and AI, among other digital skills.
According to Cisco’s Cybersecurity Readiness Index, 59% of companies in India report having more than ten unfilled cybersecurity roles in their organizations. Moreover, another report by Bain & Company projects that India could face a shortfall of more than a million skilled AI professionals by 2027, highlighting the urgency for skill preparedness.
Some key takeaways: Cisco’s Networking Academy (NetAcad) program will provide learners with access to industry-relevant courses in networking, cybersecurity and AI, To bridge the skills gap, enhance employability and build a pipeline of talent to keep up with the growing demand for skilled workforce.
“The GoAP welcomes this initiative by Cisco, which will play a pivotal role in preparing our students and workforce with the necessary skills to seize opportunities in AI and emerging technologies for the jobs of tomorrow” said AP’s IT minister Mr Lokesh Nara.
