Says more responsibilities on his shoulders now
Mr Anil Kumar Singhal today assumed charge as the TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams) EO for the second time. It might be recalled that Mr Singhal had earlier too served as the EO (Executive officer) for about three and a half years.
Addressing media personnel outside the temple, he credited his second term to the benign blessings of Sri Venkateswara Swamy, his parents, family, friends, well-wishers.
Reminiscing his long-standing association with Tirumala temple he said that since 1994 he has been visiting the temple and had then queued up in line to have darshan as a common devotee and had also participated in Garuda Seva.
“I therefore have closely observed the issues of devotees. Though several reforms have been brought, there is no end to this and there is always a scope to do more and more pilgrim initiatives.
By assuming charge as TTD EO today for the second time, my responsibilities have increased. I thank the CM of AP for giving me this opportunity,” said Mr Singhal.
The executive officer further cited that while trekking the Alipiri Footpath on Wednesday morning, he happened to interact with the devotees who expressed immense pleasure over the enhanced taste of Laddu and Anna Prasadams in the last one year.
”Similarly, the devotees have also given a few other suggestions which need to be discussed with officials. Development in TTD is a never-ending process.
Upon the Instructions of CM we will also have to discuss with officials on how to increase footfall in all the TTD temples located across the country and how best we can utilize the services of local sevaks in these temples”, said the new EO.
Mr Singhal hailed the entire work force of TTD especially in Tirumala and said that even at odd hours they work with utmost enthusiasm which is a unique quality of theirs.
“The TTD employees play a vital role in the success of every event and they work as a team. I thank them for supporting me in my earlier tenure as TTD EO and hope to receive their same cooperation now”, said Mr Singhal.
Earlier the new EO had taken oath as the TTD board member Secretary ex-officio in front of Sri Venkateswara Swamy wherein the oath was administered by the Additional EO Mr Ch Venkaiah Chowdary.
After having darshan of Sri Venkateswara Swamy he was offered Vedaseervachanam followed by distribution of Theertha Prasadams besides the lamination photo of Sri Venkateswara.
Later the TTD EO called on TTD Chairman Mr BR Naidu at the latter’s camp office wherein the Chairman congratulated Mr Singhal for assuming charges as TTD EO for the second time.
TTD JEO Mr Veerabrahmam, CV&SO Mr Muralikrishna along with other senior officials were also present.
