Huge bulk drugs unit to come up in Anakapalle

Laurus labs is set to establish a bulk drugs manufacturing unit with an investment of Rs. 5,000 crore at IP  Rambilli Phase-2 in Gorapudi village, of Anakapalle district.

The project will directly and indirectly create employment opportunities for 7,500 people. Laurus Labs CEO Mr Chava Satyanarayana and Executive Vice President Mr Chava Narasimha Rao recently met CM Mr Chandrababu Naidu at the Secretariat and thanked the CM for allocating land.

Mr Naidu emphasised on the speed of doing business in providing employment and economic opportunities. He assured full support from the government and asked them to start work at the field level at the earliest. The CM said that the establishment of this industry will provide job opportunities to a large number of youth in the region. Laurus Labs has been investing in Visakhapatnam since 2007.

So far, they have setup manufacturing units with an investment of Rs. 6,500 crore, providing jobs to 10,000 people. The company operates  units in Bengaluru and Hyderabad. As part of the company’s expansion, it is setting up industries in Rambilli.

It will produce specialty chemicals such as fermentation, crop science chemicals, and green chemistry.
