CM announces release of Rs 1500 cr incentives

Andhra Pradesh’s chief minister Mr N Chandrababu Naidu has made the auspicious occasion of Diwali even more celebratory for industry by announcing the release of pending incentives to industry.

“On this auspicious occasion of Deepawali our government is releasing the first instalment of Rs 1500 crores towards pending industrial incentives” said the chief minister taking to X (formerly twitter).

He said that despite fiscal challenges the government remains steadfast in its commitment to support industry, strengthen investor confidence and make Andhra Pradesh a preferred destination for business and growth.

Partnership Summit

The chief minister today also conducted a high-level review meeting with senior officials of both CII and the government of AP on the arrangements being made for the upcoming CII partnership summit.

Addressing the meeting the CM said that the summit should be organized on the lines of Davos World Economic Forum and that the state should be developed as a destination for Artificial intelligence.

He said plenary sessions and breakout sessions should give priority for knowledge sharing.

It was informed that sessions would also focus on AI for good, Semiconductors, Health sector, Innovation, R&D, space, drones, Electronics and Medtech.

The chief minister further added that discussions should be organized on smart manufacturing, chain linkage, logistics, connectivity, inland waterways, warehouse, cold storage, agritech, value addition in rare earth minerals, Swachandhra, circular economy and P-4 programmes.

In addition, he said that economic corridors, industrial clusters, Amaravati blue and green capital, water security, futuristic workforce, and technology based good governance should be spoken of in the summit.

Highlighting the decision of Google to set up a big AI data centre, he said that Visakhapatnam is going to emerge as a happening city and several other companies are also preferring Visakhapatnam and therefore priority should be given for skill development and human resources.

Mr Naidu also advocated for universities and educational institutions to be given representation in the summit.

The CII partnership summit is scheduled to be held in Visakhapatnam on November 14 and 15.
