The Centre of Excellence in Maritime & Shipbuilding (CEMS), recently announced that its institute is offering free training in Product Design Engineering for the unemployed youth from the Visakhapatnam region.
As per the institute this free training program has been made possible with the help and generous support of South Asia LPG Company Private Limited (SALPG) under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
CEMS informed that eligible candidates are unemployed youth below 24 years of age, who have completed B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering in 2023, 2024, or 2025 with a minimum 6.5 CGPA, without backlogs and without academic gaps can apply for this program.
The training program will run for three months and will focus on enhancing employability skills.
CEMS has a proven track record of successfully training and placing candidates in reputed companies such as DesignTech, Pennar Industries, LG Electronics, and Tech Mahindra.
This year, candidates trained under this initiative have also been selected for one-year paid internships at Cochin Shipyard, Udipi Shipyard, and Hooghly Shipyard.

SALP’s CEO Mrs. Richa Shinde and CEMS chief operating officer, Cdr. Gopi Krishna Sivvam, (Retd.) signed an agreement to this effect.
