MCL to implement AI enabled safety mechanism

Mahanadi Coal Fields will soon implement an Artificial Intelligence-enabled mechanism to enhance the safety and security of both human resources and materials within the company.

MCL Chairman-cum-Managing Director Mr Uday Anant Kaole, inaugurated the Annual Mines Safety Fortnight 2024-25 with a safety awareness rally.

He emphasized that ensuring workplace safety should always be a top priority. “Safety of our personnel and equipment has always been a cornerstone of our work culture. MCL has been a pioneer in innovative use of technology, like surface miners, which has transformed the coal sector through blast-less coal extraction.

I am happy to announce that Mahanadi Coal Fields will fully utilize the capabilities of AI-powered systems to further enhance the safety of our employees and machinery,” said the Chairman & Managing Director, pressing everyone to embrace personal safety as an integral part of their daily lives.
