Tata Group makes grand plans for AP

Mulls 20 hotels across the State

India’s largest business conglomerate the Tata group seems to have ambitious plans for the state of Andhra Pradesh. Tata group’s chairman Mr Natarajan Chandra- sekaran was recently in Vijayawada to meet the chief Minister Mr N Chandrababu Naidu.

The duo are said to have discussed mega investment plans for AP ranging from hospitality to IT to renewables.

One of the major announcements made by the chief minister post his meeting with Mr Chandrasekaran was on the hospitality sector.

‘In order to boost tourism and industrial growth, Indian Hotels is exploring setting up another 20 hotels across the state (Taj, Vivanta, Gateway, SeleQtions and Ginger Hotels) along with a large convention centre’ said the CM in a social media post.

In addition he announced that Tata Power is evaluating over 5 GW in solar and wind projects, with a potential Rs 40,000 Cr investment. ‘We also explored potential collaboration to innovate deep tech and AI solutions for primary healthcare’ said the CM.

TCS had recently announced the opening up of a development centre in Visakhapatnam creating 10,000 jobs. Furthermore, the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub will mentor entrepreneurs across the state with the aim of achieving our ‘One, One Family Entrepreneur’ vision.
