Bringing yet another coveted laurel to India in the game of chess is nine year old Devaansh Nara who created a world record for the “Fastest Checkmate Solver – 175 Puzzles”.

In a thrilling showcase of tactical prowess, the young chess prodigy set a world record titled “Checkmate Marathon”.

This record-making event featured Devaansh tackling a sequence of progressively challenging checkmate puzzles, all selected from the renowned chess compilation, 5334 Problems, Combinations, and Games by László Polgár, within a tight timeframe!

We are thrilled to have received the official confirmation from the prestigious World Book of Records, London for all 3 records he’d attempted, making him one among the finest globally, said an official statement.

Devaansh is the son of AP’s IT minister Mr Nara Lokesh and grandson of Andhra Pradesh’s chief minister Mr N Chandrababu Naidu.

Devaansh’s parents, Mrs Brahmani and Mr Lokesh were ecstatic on their son’s record breaking achievement.

“I’ve seen Devaansh train with laser sharp focus, and passionately embrace the sport. He’s inspired by stellar historic performances of Indian chess players in the global arena. I’d like to thank Roy Chess Academy for making chess fun” said an elated Mr Nara Lokesh.

Similarly Devaansh’s elated coach, Mr K Rajashekar Reddy said, “Devaansh is a focused student who learns chess creatively. His mental agility is immense as he was able to sharply solve 175 complex puzzles with interest. I’m sure this is just a milestone in his journey of chess!”

It was further informed that Devaansh had trained for 5-6hrs a day recently, and has been progressively training for this event for nearly 6 months.

The young star also achieved two more records. He finished the 7 disc Tower of Hanoi in just 1min 43seconds, and arranged 9 chess boards in 5mins with all 32 pieces in correct positions! All the world record attempts were thoroughly scrutinized by adjudicators and the officials of World Book of Records, London.
