CM moots 100 food parks each with 100 acres, PPP mode

The Government of Andhra Pradesh recently showcased the State’s unique strengths, opportunities, and robust support mechanisms at the 15th edition of FoodPro 2024 held in Chennai.

In an exclusive session organized by CII titled “Unlocking Value in the Food Processing Sector, Dr. Sreedhar Cherukuri, IAS, Commissioner of Industries, Commerce and Export Promotion, CEO- AP Food Processing Society delivered the inaugural address, highlighting the state’s abundant opportunities, and robust support mechanisms that make Andhra Pradesh an ideal location for the food processing industry.

Addressing the CEOs of various industries involved in the food processing ecosystem Dr Cherukuri highlighted the nine operational food parks in Andhra Pradesh that cater to different segments of the food processing industry and extended an invitation to the industry to establish more food parks in Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode.

He emphasized that Andhra Pradesh, with its numerous technical institutions offering Food Technology courses, is well-equipped to develop skilled manpower tailored to the needs of the industry.

Reaffirming the state’s competitive advantages such as export potential, commodity-specific clusters, and three industrial corridors, Dr. Sreedhar Cherukuri stressed upon the state government’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment. 

He also detailed the state’s single-desk portal for granting approvals within 21 days and said that the government is dedicated to offering tailored incentives for large and mega industries.

Andhra Pradesh Food Processing Society, GoAP had set up a pavilion at the event to further raise awareness about the comprehensive support available to industries and investors interested in establishing food processing industries in the state.
