FAPCCI holds GST session to sensitize public

In a recently organized session by FAPCCI on GST departmental Audit & Enforcement, Mr. MRR Reddy, IRS, Principal Additional Director General, Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI) Visakhapatnam Zonal Unit explained various rights of taxpayers, assesse and how GST department is undertaking audit and inspecting the ledgers of the taxpayer.

He explained the slew of checks & balances they have in their department to enforce the law in a transparent manner. Mr Reddy urged participants who are facing any issues with the GST department officers, to visit his office for redressal of the issues.

He made better understanding of GST law which helps to prevent many litigations at the preliminary stage and GST department is user friendly as they were conducting awareness programs very often for business to understand the problems of the other side.

Vice president, FAPCCI, Mr. Kankatala Mallikharjuna Rao and Mr. CV Atchut Rao, Immediate Past President, FAPCCI also attended the seminar and delivered welcome address.

Mr. Mallikharjuna Rao appraised the Prinicipal Additional Director General on the genuine difficulties of the traders, on the Input tax credit issues and audit verifications by multiple departments on the same tax payers. 

Mr. Siva Prasad Annavarapu, Partner, SGRP & Associates lucidly explained the GST Audit provisions and law & how to handle the department audits practically.

Similarly Mr. Ramakrishna Sangu, Partner, RK Sangu & Associates explained Assessment Procedures under GST Audit and regarding show cause notice & demand and assessment proceedings under the GST Law.

CA Rajesh Maddi, Partner, H N A & Co. LLP explained about the various compliances, reconciliations to be prepared at the year end by all the tax payers to be ready for Scrutiny and Audit by the department.

Advocate Anil Bezawada, Advocate at Andhra Pradesh High Court spoke on some of the important judgments delivered by the Andhra Pradesh High Court and the pending issues before the AP High Court.
